The massive nature of MOOCs such as EDCMOOC means that there are potentially thousands of active participants all over the world. Wouldn't it be great to be able to draw on this pool of knowledge and share ideas - instantly?
Of course we can use Twitter and Facebook and other social networks - but these aren't quite as instant, or as intimate, as might be desirable.
At any point in time, a large proportion of EDCMOOC participants will be online.
What about instant messaging?
A kind of chatroulette for MOOCs, perhaps?
I have recruited a number of generous volunteers who have agreed to be available via this simple, open-source instant messaging system - anonymously at first - if you would like to interact with them and ask any questions you may have.
Bear in mind that English may not be their first language!
